Bullet (because he runs so fast) wandered onto the property of an elderly couple in W Mobile County the last week of Dec 2016. As sweet as he is, they are physically unable to care for him. We picked him up this past weekend (Jan 7, 2017), took him to the vet for all shots, thorough check-up, and to get chipped. No health issues. In fact he is VERY healthy. He is approx 7-8 mos old. Very gentle temperament, gets along very well w other dogs all ages. He is not neutered at this time. He's black with red and and white markings and weighs 28 lbs. He sits, does not run away, comes when he is called, normal appetite. He's a happy dog, does. ... (Read More)It appear to have been abused. Ads have been run and monitored for over two weeks. He loves to be pet and cuddles up right next to you. My other non-hound dogs bark more than he does!! He is free to a loving and attentive home. Easily a family pet but could be a great hunting dog as well. If interested pls call 251-471-3384 ext 201 or 207. Or email Jim McGuire at Interview with prospective adoptive person/family highly preferred. Billet is a sweet, sweet dog and will thrive in a loving and safe environment. He does not love a leash but is happy to please and am confident can be easily trained. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Alabama
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
