Jack is a Tree Walking Coonhound-Beagle mix around 2 years old. This cute little boy was found near Millwood Lake in Arkansas with 2 other dogs. Jack does well on a leash but likes to jump and we are working on his jumping addiction. He also has some issues with guarding food which requires firm and consistent correction. Because of this, Jack is looking for a patient family who understands that he may need a little extra behavioral work and one that is willing to continue working with him to resolve this problem. Most importantly, he loves to be loved on - and maybe being the center of attention in a family all of his own will help with ... (Read More)some of his less than desirable traits. Jack has been temperament tested and is great with adults and teenagers but has not been tested around small children. He gets along fine with female dogs of any size but does not care for companionship of male dogs. Jack is housebroken, crate-trained, up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and will be microchipped prior to adoption. Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

SWEET LUCY Sweet Lucy went to school every day, like a good little girl, and was loved by all of the teachers. However, Lucy is a timid, young Beagle mix who went to school each day because she was slowly starving to death.... and the staff would feed her, give her treats and some attention each day. It broke their hearts that she appeared homeless so one of the teachers took her home so she would be cared for. Lucy has done well with her foster family but is still unsure of strangers. She was on her own so long she doesn't know what to expect from people. Will they be kind or will they yell, throw things and try to run her away? She can't ... (Read More)be sure since the later was obviously what she cruelly, received most. Lucy is praying for a forever family that can shower her with lots of love & attention, showing her there is nothing to be afraid of anymore and to be committed to helping her grow and happily thrive. Are you the one who will show her how the world is supposed to be? Lucy weighs about 23 lbs and is a beautiful girl... please consider giving her the life she deserves. (Less)

Beagle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

THEO Meet Theo, a sweet boy who has been transformed by loving care! This sweet boy was found as an abandoned stray, suffering from such severe mange that he literally had no fur left. Mange is caused by mites that burrow through the skin causing intense itching and irritation. His skin was dry, cracked and with infections from where he had scratched himself. He front teeth are missing but we do not know if that is from neglect, abuse or poor diet. He was severely malnourished and slowly dying a very painful, miserable death. Today - Theo is a miracle! With lots of love, care and good, healthy food - Theo is now a very healthy, happy, ... (Read More)handsome and loving boy! The change is incredible! Theo is just a good ole laid back Beagle and Black & Tan Hound mix who weighs about 35 pounds. He is an adult, possibly older than 5 years as he has a gray muzzle. He is so-o-o good-natured! All through his recovery, he needed lots of medications, creams rubbed on his skin, baths and yet, he never hesitated to give kisses to his foster mom while she nursed him back to health. He is just a sweetheart and is so happy now. He is good with other dogs and everyone he meets. Just a total love muffin! Theo is ready for his forever family and home now. He is certainly a sweetheart who deserves to spend the rest of his life being loved and pampered. Theo means 'precious gift' - and that describes him perfectly - he is a precious gift! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Arkansas
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Arkansas if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
