Animal ID: 22234Olive (female)
My name is Olive and I am the most adorable Beagle/Lab mix you will ever meet. I am about 2 yrs old and weigh 20 lbs. Everyone around me says I'm a Q T, whatever that means. I am a little shy and sometimes belly crawl...that's when they say Q T...so I do it alot....it seems to make them laugh. Humans are so silly sometimes. If my owner doesn't come for me, I will be available 5/22/16.

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-17-00336Zoey (female)
Zoey is in desperate need of a forever home. I rescued her from certain death on the streets but I cannot keep her. She's a lovable dog and just wants to be loved. She is a great guard dog, nobody gets in your yard without her letting you know someone is there. She is house trained and does extremely well with using the potty outside. Very few accidents unless she is left inside of a long period of time. Loves to snuggle, thinks she is a little dog in a big dog body. Would make a great pet, all she needs is love and the occasional vet expenses that come with being a dog owner. Please help her, she doesn't deserve to be put down and the shelter isn't 100% kill free. She just needs someone to love her. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-22-00545Lex Woofer (male)
I adopted Lex in hopes he would be the perfect pup for our family. Sadly he needs some behavioral training...he chews when he plays, jumps a lot, and is an underwear thief! He's very sweet but I fear he needs more attention than I am able to provide. He is up to date on all vaccinations, is on hear some preventative (advantage multi). Weighs about 30lbs

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-07-00541Buster (male)
We found him in the middle of the hwy, Wednesday April 6th He has been out for several weeks. He looks like a hunting type dog. Cannot find owner. He has been to the vet and been vaccinated. He was given flea and tic preventative. He does not have heartworm. He is being wormed for hook worms. He has a minor infection and is taking a antibiotic. He is a very calm , happy dog. He went to work with me and was very polite with people. He has been very good with the other dogs. He has noticed the cat but has not made any advances. He was very curious about the cockatiel in her cage. When I took him out with the other dogs for a walk he was very happy, nose to the ground and tail wagging the entire time. I have heard him bark only twice and briefly. He is in a crate and seems quite comfortable in it. He did not make a sound all night even when the big boys decided there was something outside to bark at. I have 3 other rescues, large dogs, a cat, cockatiel and guineas. I really cannot keep him. One of my rescues is highly fearful and not adjusting. Buster has not shown any aggression or fear even with the big dogs barking in his face. Buster is a sweetheart and deserves to be with people who have time and space for him. I will travel to deliver him to his forever home with a fenced in yard. He is an inside dog. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-23-00673Levi (male)
3/24/16 Just like a good ol' pair of comfortable jeans, our Levi will make you feel good all over with his sweet manners and fun loving spirit! Levi is an adorable Hound mix...just look at those ears! He is 2yo and weighs around 50lbs. Just the right size to ride along in your pickup truck...and can't you see those ears flapping in the wind? He loves everyone, but just like your typical guy, he prefers the pretty girl doggies over the macho boys. Levi has low-moderate energy so that makes him a pretty easy fit in just about any home. Come see this sweetheart today! Visit us on Facebook at The Charleston Dog Shelter for more photos of Levi and our other great dogs! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-27-00731LILI (female)
LILI What a pretty girl! I am Lili, a beautiful Beagle and Terrier mix. I have such pretty colors and I am so sweet. I weigh only about 22 pounds so I am not very big...just big enough to fill your heart and lap! I was all alone, dumped out in the country with my little puppies. I was desperately trying to feed and shelter them under an abandoned camper when a good Samaritan came to rescue us. My puppies have all found homes and are safe now. I really miss them and still don't understand where they have gone. My foster mom says that now it is my turn to find a home where I will be loved and cared for...loved, babied and treasured. Boy, I have never had anyone love me and care for me...it sounds wonderful. They say I am a good girl, loving, good with other dogs, kids and adults. I'd love to have my very own family, a family where I will be the sweet puppy girl who is loved and cared for. If you have room in your heart and home for me, please call or text Mary Ann (501) 276-2385. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-08-21-00265Bogie (male)
8/21/13 You only get a name like Bogie if you are a regular at a golf course and that's exactly where this little guy has been spending his days...actually months if the truth be known. His southern belle was keeping him company, but she has been adopted which has left Bogie looking for love. This handsome fella is a young adult, around 1 1/2 years old and is your classic, goofy, fun loving and always happy Beagle. If you know anything about this breed, you know you are in for a lifetime of entertainment if you take Bogie home. He is a neat dog with a charming personality, love of humans and other dogs and his tail never stops wagging. He is adjusting to life in the shelter, instead of the clubhouse, but would certainly rather be spending his days with a family of his own. Bogie enjoyed being 'just one of the guys' on the golf course, but the women at the shelter thinks he can do better...no offense fellas! Bogie just doesn't need a cart and clubs to get the ladies attention these days! Help us show Bogie what a family is all about by calling for a visit today! Visit us on Facebook at The Charleston Dog Shelter for more pictures of Bogie and our other great dogs! 5/7/14 Such a shame! Bogie is still waiting. He is such an awesome dog...someone is missing out! 3/24/16 Bogie is still waiting for you! He will need a secure area as he can scale a low fence...and a big area to run and exercise! (Less)

Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Arkansas if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
