What a gorgeous and sweet girl. Meet Ellie Mae, a young fem. Beagle mix. At 38 lbs. she is the perfect size between a small and medium dog. This pretty girl will make heads turn - guaranteed, as she is beautiful inside AND out. She is a little frightened being in a loud and busy shelter and doesn't understand what happened to her last family. Let's face it - we would be scared as well, if we were in Ellie Mae's shoes (or paws). Even though we cannot answer as to why she was found as a stray, we do know that she is deserving of a loving forever home that will not abandon her anymore. Will you help us make her wish come true? Rescue Me ID: 17-12-14-00286Baby (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

If you have any questions about fostering or adopting Baby please contact 4 Paws 4 Life Rescue and Boarding directly at and adopt@4p4l.org. DATE DOG IS COMING TO 1st EVENT: Friday, December 15th Foster family says: Some friends of mine posted a pic of Baby on FB. She was living on the streets and staying by a dumpster. It was really cold and raining and different people were out trying to help her get out of the cold. We went searching but couldn't find her. It was raining and it was going to snow. The next day, my husband went out to look for her and found her! She was shivering and wet. My husband gave her some tacos and she ... (Read More)willingly got in the truck with him. He took her to the vet and got her vaccinations and a nice warm bath. The vet said she had a litter of puppies approximately 5 to 7 months ago. We took her home and she's super sweet. She's potty trained and plays with my 8 year old daughter. She's been sleeping quite a bit and enjoys going out for her walks/potty breaks. I believe she was once an indoor pet based on how well she behaves. We left her alone in the house for 4 hours with the tv on and we had no incidents. We really wish we could keep her but I'm risking our lease agreement just fostering her for now. Please help me find a home for this sweet baby. She totally deserves it and i know that she will be on her best behavior. All dogs are available for online adoption now. In-person adoptions will begin on the date of a dog's first event provided they are still available. Dogs not adopted during their first event will attend additional events thereafter until adopted. Our adoption events are at the Lakewood PetCo, 475 S Wadsworth Blvd on Fridays 4pm-7pm and Saturdays 11am-1pm. An adoption application online is required prior to viewing our dogs. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance. We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. Adopter has to sign up for the insurance if they are interested or it will not go into effect. Adopter can go to our vet for medical issues that may arise in 1st 3 days of adoption. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up at our Lakewood PetCo adoption events, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. A dog on PENDING status means the dog is still enroute to our rescue but is scheduled to arrive very soon. A dog on AVAILABLE status means the dog is currently in our care. Adoption Fee: $210 (Less)

Beagle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

No, Toby is no Dalmatian, but Toby needs a home just the same. He appears to be a cross between a beagle and a wired haired breed, maybe Jack Russell? In the fall of 2016, Toby's mom's health began to fail severely and he could no longer stay with her. In early January, his mom passed away and one of her last requests was that Toby find a fabulous forever home and we want very much to fulfill that final wish. Toby had been a great companion for his mom and did live with cats and dogs in the past. Today, Toby is in Centennial where he goes to the dog park most days and romps with a cute little Dalmatian in his foster home. He loves attention, ... (Read More)is good in the house, uses the dog door and will sleep in a crate but he doesn't figure he needs to. And he likes car rides too. Toby has been adopted before but it was not a good fit for him. He needs patience and understanding or he can become defensive. For more information, contact Tori at Torystori@gmail.com. Animal ID: 232322Shilo (male)

Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered

Shilo is super awesome furr baby. He is maybe 1 year old or younger. He is super calm, potty trained (non-marker), crate trained, and super laid back dog. He hardly ever barks maybe only when he sees cat or rabbit. He loves to cuddle and gets along with all dogs and humans. He is great with my 3 year old son. Sometimes if he gets bored he likes to chew something in the house but if you give him chew toys and bones on regular basis he stops that behavior. Its really hard for me to keep bones and toys around the house due to large number of dogs. I usually crate him when I leave the house and he is ok with that. He loves to sleep with me in ... (Read More)the bed but he also does not mind crate. He is really good boy and is lookimg for his perfect family. His shedding is about average but if his coat is kept short and groomed it will be minimal. He is about 20lb but very small and long. Very stocky looking dog. I did genetic test on him to see exactly what breed he is and I am currently waiting on results. He is UTD on shots, hw negative and fixed. His adoption fee is $200 and he can be adopted anywhere in the United States. Let me know if you are interested in this baby. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-23-00084Betty (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Betty (previously named Lady April) is a dear, sweet little dog who just wants to be loved by her person. She loves to snuggle and love on her human and play with her toys. Once she warms up to people when they are introduced properly, she accepts them. She will play sometimes, but she is so focused on her owner, that nothing else exists. She is quite fearful of men, so any male in the home will have to go super slow with her and allow her time (she will bark and maybe growl a little) to get to know them and trust. She may still not fully trust a man after many months even, so potential adopters should be aware of this. Betty tries to ... (Read More)be possessive of her owner and will bark at anyone that comes near so they know that. A slight 'oopsie' correction usually will stop her barking. Her personality has come out in a short amount of time. She doesn't mind the crate but does like to sleep in the big bed with her person. She weighs 10#, is approx 3 y/o, and loves to cuddle. She can really wag that tail when she's happy! She is house trained and lets you know when she has to go potty. She is very quiet aside from the occasional grunt/growl at mean and unusual things but that should cease as she becomes more familiar and confident. She likes other dogs and enjoys running and playing with them, just not sharing her person with them. She has a slight luxating patella which doesn't seem to bother her because she LOVES going for walkies. her new owner must commit to walking Betty a couple times per day. WDCR requires an application, home and reference check and a met and greet with current pets and/or children in the home. Betty is being fostered in Littleton, CO. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Colorado
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
