Rescue Me ID: 14-10-16-00373Maddie (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Whenever a sweet and adorable Beagle or Foxhound mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that pups of this breed mix are so loving, smart & intuitive. They also fit so well into a family and make great companions for all age groups. Sometimes the younger dogs are a bit shy when coming from a shelter or a compromising situation....but put them in a home with a loving family and frequent socialization...and they always shine. Our wonderful Maddie is about a year to 1.5 years old (such a great age - young enough to be puppy endearing and old enough to be understanding her adult skills) and currently weighs ... (Read More)about 25 lbs. As a young girl, Maddie is a blank slate just waiting for a forever family to teach her the wonders of her world. If she is trained with positive reinforcement, given tons of love, socialization with both humans of all ages and other dogs...she will grow into a self-confident adult who will be a wonderful companion - She has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament and a puppyish desire to please. We got the following description from Maddie's foster dad.. Maddie is great with other dogs, great on the leash and will walk next to you almost perfectly. Maddy is not only great with other dogs and non-vocal..she won't even acknowledge them when they bark or lunge at her. She's NEVER aggressive! Maddie is affectionate and loving at night when she cuddles up in our bed. Even though she doesn't really know me (I work very long hours), it's the one place she will get close to me and curl up by our legs. Otherwise she is still frightened of me in other situations... I'm sure my attending positive-reinforcement training class with Maddie would help but I don't have the time. Maddie is active in a very positive way. She absolutely loves to go for walks and hikes with her family. Maddy's ideal household would have less traffic than our crazy one. We have little kids being loud and super-active...especially when their friends show up. Maddy is absolutely head over heels in love with females, children (older is saner for her)and other dogs. I do believe that if I had been home more, she would have been comfortable. She never got to know me and therefore remained a bit fearful. Maddie's definitely been a best friend to my wife and kids...playing and loving them! Maddie follows my wife everywhere and usually ends up on the couch with her head on my wife's lap. The truth also is that we're expecting our 3rd child and truly don't have the time for Maddie. Farfel's would like to place Maddie in a home with either active retirees or a younger family who loves spending lots of time with a fuzzy and devoted family member. Maddie will shine for a family who is motivated to take her to group obedience classes and to bring out all the wonderful qualities and loyalty that's living inside of this incredibly cute Beagle mix. Maddie would love hiking the trails of Colorado, window-shopping on Pearl Street to fine-tune her urban skills and being a very present companion all through the day. If given proper amounts of mental stimulation and exercise, Maddie will be comfortable with being alone for a number of hours and know that her family will always return. She'll learn this lesson with love, consistency and kind boundaries present in her life. Maddie has gorgeous markings on her shining coat...great nutrition and periodic baths/brushing will promote a healthy sheen on this beautiful girl. Maddie is being fostered in Denver. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets are being set up for this exceptional and very loving companion. If interested in meeting the wonderful Maddie, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-05-00039Valerie (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Valerie is such a dream- come- true girl for any family! If you're searching for a true-blue companion that has no greater joy than to take leisurely walks, visit with dog-loving friends and then lie in your lap (or at least by your side), then Valerie is your perfect pup. Valerie is a 2.5 - 3 year old (just at the perfect place in her life..young and healthy with her whole life lying in front of her yet done with challenging puppy behavior) and weighs about 10 lbs. Valerie is the cutest Pug mix you've ever seen! She has that irresistible Pug face and body with a comical curly tail...and the striking markings of a Beagle. Her personality ... (Read More)is a perfect mixture of the famous Pug temperament..engaging, comical and snuggly..and the smart and sensitive nature of the Beagle. This kind girl had no idea why she was suddenly on death row....she tried SO hard to be the best-behaved pup around! How could she possibly understand that she was going to be euthanized simply because the shelter was out of space? This amazing pup...with the best soul ever... deserves only the greatest that life has to offer! Valerie's behavior is so loving and devoted that she's appropriate for any dog-friendly situation. She has been welcomed into shops, friend's homes and cars...she's so warm and wonderful that she brings a sense of calm to all those who have the pleasure of spending time with her. With all of Valerie's snuggly ways...she's also open to a leisurely walk. This is very important in keeping her thin which is a lifelong challenge for Pugs. Just as long as she's with her favorite people, Valerie is good to go...anywhere. She loves riding shotgun on errands or adventures...as long as she can be a copilot and see out the window, she's pretty good about not being a backseat driver. We envision Valerie in an adult only (or older kids 12+) home where she is truly a part of a family that enjoys their time at home... or likes to bring a wonderful, fuzzy girl with them. When Valerie can't come along, you can bet she'll be at the window loyally waiting for her family to return. She also seems to enjoy her time with gentle dogs, but we feel she could also be very happy in a single-dog household as long as she's not alone for many long hours. There wasn't a spay appointment available prior to transport in Valerie's tiny, remote Kansas town. Farfel's is happy to cover Valerie's spay and microchip immediately at our vet in Lakewood. Valerie is being fostered in Denver. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this comical and so sweet companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Animal ID: CCR670Layla (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Layla came to us from a crowded shelter in Texas and is approximately 11 weeks old. We are guessing her breed to be a Beagle mix. Layla is the smallest of her sisters. She is very playful and sweet and loves to be cuddled. She gets upset when left alone but calms down quickly. She is doing well with her potty training and uses potty pads when she is in her pen. Layla would probably do best in a household where she has a lot of snuggle time and is not left alone for long periods of time. Beagle Mix    Age: Young Puppy

I need to rehome my 4 month old beagle mix. She is very sweet and extremely smart. I rescued her a few weeks ago but I think needs someone with more time and space. She has all of her shots and is spayed. She is about 20 lbs so I don't expect her to get big. She is doing awesome with her house and crate training. She also gets along with my other pup great- they love each other. I am asking a rehoming fee of $300 just to ensure she goes to a good home and to cover some costs. She will also come with her collar and leash. Please text call or email if interested 303.910.8881 thanks

PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Colorado
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
