Our father just passed away, and Buster has been his companion for the last five years. No one in the family is able to take Buster, so we need to find him a good home. He is a wonderful companion dog, walks very well on a leash, and loves a good petting. He is micro-chipped and had his teeth cleaned in November of 2012. Kindness Small Animal Hospital in Nampa is his current vet. Buster is an indoor and outdoor dog, but needs to be inside at night, as he does not do well with the cold. He also takes medication once a day for seizures and is very easy to medicate.

Rescue Me ID: 13-04-03-00319Ty (male)

Beagle    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ty is a 9 year old beagle. He has been a member of our family since he was 8 weeks old but has recently been having issues getting along with our boxer. I am a vet tech and have 4 dogs he gets along very well with all of them except the male boxer (whom is also neutered). It is getting to the point that i am concerned for his safety as he unprovoked with growl and lunge at the boxer and the boxer has decided (after 3 years of this happening, which previously he would just run away from Ty) that it is time to defend himself and being much stronger and much bigger you can only imagine who wins those fights. I am sad to say that we are trying ... (Read More)to find a home for him but am hopeful that even though he is older he will find a family that can give him love. He is very easygoing and friendly with all people including children. He lets my 5 year old walk him and pretty much do whatever he wants to him. He is a beagle therefore very food motivated and will get into food left out. He also has a tendency to dig so an invisible fence is recommended or a nice fence and a diligent owner. He is a thin boy, but i have had every test under the sun ran on him and he is healthy to the T. He recently had a bloodpanel done and his vaccinations. Feel free to email me with questions or if you would like to meet him. Cedwards9177@msn.com (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Idaho
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
