Rescue Me ID: 17-12-12-00188Winston (male)
Mr. Winston is about 8 months old. He came in as a Beagle mix. He is a not very big and weighs in at 10.7 lbs. He may have some Beagle in him but not sure what else is in there. He has lived in a home with two adults, 4 other dogs but her litter mates. He hasn't had a lot of exposure to other humans so he is really shy. He is gentle when taking a treat. He is not yet completely housebroken. He likes his crate. He wants to be wherever you are. We wold guess that within 24 hours in a forever home he will be a velcro dog. He is a little hesitant about being picked up but once he is he likes to be held. His adoption fee is $225.00. He has been neutered, current on shots, wormed, current on heartworm preventative and micro-chipped. Our adoption application is on our website at www.patriotsforpets.com if you are interested in any pet from Patriots. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-09-00012Pancho (male)
Pancho is a spunky little guy that was very scared at a high kill shelter where he was scheduled to die. He was terrified and because of this, he was not very approachable. HE IS A LOVER--you just have to let him know you love him too and that he does not have to be afraid of you. He is happy and friendly--once he gets to know you are not a threat. Otherwise, he is timid but he warms up fast. His ideal home would be with adults and children over the age of 10--children that understand that he will be shy at first. He will be great in a home with a fenced yard as he knows how to use a doggy door very well. He is great in a kennel and not a barker--unless he needs to warn you that someone is at the door. Did I mention he is a great snuggler and sings along with you! If you are interested in Pancho please email me at email@example.com or text me at 319-471-0752. TRANSPORT IS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE THAT A GREAT HOME AWAITS! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-30-00200Sir Charles Barkley (male)
Meet Sir Charles Barkley! AKA Barkley, B's, Bubba. He will be 4 in January and is a fixed male. He is ok with dogs in most situations, but needs to be the only dog living in the home. He is good with adults, but not small children--I would guess over the age of 7 or 8 might be okay. He does have territorial issues with toys/bones, hence not living with another dog. Average-high energy, he has the beagle nose so will need a fenced yard or land, and/or walks so his nose/brain stays stimulated. He knows all basic commands. He loves his people, but he will let you know when he wants to be left alone. He could be an amazing dog in the right family! He has a tendency to try and bolt out open doors, fence gates, and the like, so must be careful when coming and going. The bump on his head in the pictures has since been removed, it was a small benign tumor. He does have a charming scar from it. Please contact with any questions or a meet and greet! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Iowa
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Iowa if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
