Rescue Me ID: 15-08-28-00680Tucker (male)

Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tucker is approximately 2 years old and is looking for a home with older kids or no kids. He needs a dominant person to set the rules and doesn't like to kennel at all due to a bad past experience with them. He is house trained, but is a little food aggressive, so will need to be fed separate. He likes to get his exercise and we think being a routine would be best. If you think you have a great home for Tucker, you can apply for him at www.adoptdiamonds.org

Beagle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This lady is known as Maggie. She came into us today when her owner no longer felt they could keep her. She is estimated at about 6 years old. When she arrived we inquired when she had finished nursing her puppies and were told she had not had a litter of puppies. Our next question then was when was she due and we were told to their knowledge she was not pregnant. She is lactating so we aren't sure yet what the story is. She is chunky but we don't know if that is natural for her or not. She will go into the vet on Monday to figure out what is happening with her and we just hope she is not pregnant. We were told she is a 'terrier' but to ... (Read More)be honest we don't see that. We can't give her the shots she requires until we have her examined by the vet. Anyone know what breed they think she is? She is housebroken, good with kids and does good with other dogs but does get a little jealous when the other dogs are getting what she considers her attention and she will nudge them out of her way to get all the attention. PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Iowa
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Iowa if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
