|Rescue Me ID: 16-05-01-00264Juliett (female)|
Juliett is a 2 year old, sweet natured Beagle mix girl who weighs 26 pounds. She is a happy, playful girl who gets along well with all other animals. Juliett enjoys playing with other dogs, her toys, and cuddling with her person. Juliett came into rescue from a home with at least 20 other dogs and had never received any attention from people. Because of that past she trusts women faster than men. With time and patience she will trust men. Her forever home should have at least one other dog and a fenced yard for her to play safely. She would not enjoy a home with small children. Toddlers with high pitched voices and sudden movements would scare her. Juliett can be shy with men at first but with time and patience will be just as loving to them as with women. She is doing really well on a leash considering she had never seen one before arriving at her foster home. Juliett is housetrained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. She does not like or need to be crated. Juliett snuggles in her soft bed and waits for her people to come back. For more information about Juliett you can contact Roxanne at email@example.com or call 319-929-6657. |Rescue Me ID: 16-04-17-00242Walter (male)|
We want you to meet our chunky new older friend. His name is Walter. He is a senior Beagle mix at 9 years old. He is a little on the 'chunky' side. He needs a good exercise regiment. He has had extensive blood work done to make sure there is no other issue than 'chubby'. Here is what his foster home had to say about him: He was found as a stray and no one ame forward and claimed him. He was already neutered and had hair missing in the form of a harness. The hair has now grown back but he still has a few scars from being out on his own. He is a great lazy, old, fat dog. He gets along fine with other dogs as long as they don't try to take his food, then he will growl. He can be a little bossy and stubborn at times. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative, crate trained and housebroken. He was adopted out once but got brought back to the facility he was in at that time because he kept trying to dig out of the yard as they made him an 'outdoor only' dog. He has never once tried to dig out of my house. He has lived in my home and has free run of the house when we are home. His favorite thing to do besides, is sleep on the couch He is overweight, but we have had all kinds of tests run to make sure he is healthy. everything came back normal, the vet said he is just overweight. It is always great to have the information from a home that a dog has lived in - it gives people a much better idea of what to expect when he is adopted. (Less)

Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Iowa if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
