He is a good dog, but is starting to not get along with our other dogs. We have had for awhile and he enjoys hunting, but does have accidents in the house

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-15-00660Bay (female)
I have had her for a year now. When she first came to me she was scared of everyone and everything. She is housebroken now, and friendly. A little insistent about stealing food if it is at her level lol, but over all an awesome dog. I had planned on keeping her, but my landlord kicked me out and the place I have ended up in isn't good for a dog. She is bonded to a chi-weenie named Gizmo so would prefer they stay together. Will separate for the right home.

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-14-00372Vickie (female)
We have had Vickie all of her life. Currently we find that we are having difficulty keeping her and need to re-home her. She is spayed and well cared for. She is also kennel trained and prefers to rest in her kennel when not with family members. Like most beagles she will run given the opportunity, left unsupervised or not in a gated yard. Also like most beagles she will eat until she makes herself sick. She is fed twice a day to try to combat the insatiable need to eat. Anyone that has had a beagle in their lives knows this is fairly common behavior for beagles. Vickie is a good girl and very friendly.

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-12-00505ZACK (male)
My best friend needs a new home in Michigan. This is one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. Zack is a house trained, 8 year old Lemon Beagle. He's got a lot of jumps! He's best with adults with a regular schedule that includes lots of play time. He's compatible with other dogs but not too many. It will take some time to adjust to small children. Otherwise, he will get slightly stressed, agitated and disappear under a bed! He's all caught up with his shots, has no agressions, slight allergies (like his current owner), loves walks and is a snuggle magnet!

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-12-00076Stewie (male)
Stewie is a lovable boy. He loves baths (obviously). At first he barks like any Chihuahua but he's quick to warm up to people. Unfortunately I cannot keep this adorable quirky little guy because of two reasons: my mom broke her hip recently, and I have a full grown Rottweiler who recently underwent surgery for both knees.

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-14-00498Boone (male)
**Courtesy Post** Meet Boone, a two year beagle in need of a forever home. Boone has been with our friends at Muskegon Humane for nearly a year now waiting for a family of his own. He is a typical beagle and loves to explore, so a home with a fenced in yard and no small children would be best for him. He does well with other dogs but is not so found of the feline type. For more information on Boone please contact Muskegon Humane Society at 231.773.8689 or fill out an application at www.muskegonhumanesociety.org. Please share his picture in hopes to get him into a home before the holidays!
Rescue Me ID: 14-11-07-00401Otis (male)
Otis's Story... Breed: Beagle Sex: Male Age: 6 years Size: Small/compact Coat-color: Tri-color Group: Hound (scent) - Companion Energy level: Moderate Otis is an amiable, outgoing, animated, and infectiously happy dog who loves to run, scout, and play. Sweet, sensitive, and people-oriented, he will thrive in an environment where he is included in daily activities. True to his Beagle heritage, he enjoys a good romp in the backyard, and he's always up for adventure alongside his family members who he will be entirely devoted to. An enthusiastic learner who is attentive, obedient, and well-mannered, this lively compact canine loves people and lives to please them. Otis is currently working on his leash skills and good manners training with Monroe SPCA. When Otis first came to the shelter, he was suffering from a severe skin infection which caused some significant hair loss on his back and at the base of his tail. In a Monroe SPCA and MCAC partnered program, Otis received the veterinary care and treatment he needed. Although now recovered from the skin infection, he does have some visible scarring and as a result, he may need veterinary treatment/surgical removal of scar tissue in the future. Microchip implantation sponsored by Monroe SPCA with adoption of Otis. Otis is an ideal indoor pet and companion for a home with a moderately-active lifestyle. As with all of our adoptable pets, we recommend a meet-n-greet with any housemate dogs prior to adoption. Direct interaction with cats is unknown and cannot be assessed at the shelter at this time. Otis currently resides at the Monroe County Animal Shelter. The shelter is located at 911 South Raisinville Road, Monroe, MI 48161. You can meet him during regular shelter hours; Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 am until 3:00 pm, and Saturday, 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. For more information please visit our Facebook page at Monroe SPCA or Monroe County Animal Shelter-MI or call us at 734-240-3125. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-05-00240Dixie (female)
Dixie is the dog on the left. Her brother, Buster, is on the right. They will need to be placed together as they have been inseparable since we got them at 8 weeks old. I am relocating and unfortunately will be unable to take them with me. They are wonderful companions and I will miss them terribly. They are definitely house dogs and just a bit spoiled, although very well behaved. I live out of town and use a potable electric fence to contain them in the yard. If given the chance they will run (typical beagles). They grew up with my daughters who have since gone off to college so they are used to lots of TLC.

Buster is the dog in the forefront of this picture. His sister, Dixie, also in the picture, is in need of a home too. They need to be placed together as they have been inseparable since we got them at 8 weeks old. They are wonderful companions, but I am relocating and unfortunately will not be able to take them with me. They are sweet, friendly dogs who are a bit spoiled but very well behaved. They are definitely house dogs, but I use a portable electric fence to contain them in the yard when they go out. They grew up with my daughters, who have gone off to college, so they are used to lots of TLC.

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-01-00237Brady (male)
Brady is as sweet as they come! This easy going and laid back guy just doesn't understand what went wrong causing him to end up homeless. He is about 9 years old and great mix of Lab and Beagle. Now is your chance to prove to him that it wasn't his fault and that like every dog, he too, deserves a warm and loving home. He is good with other dogs but not so much cats. .Brady does love his buddy Rascal, so if possible we would love to see the two get adopted together. This is a dog who could fit into most homes and he has a very sweet temperament. If you would like to meet Brady please fill out our application by going to mosseyhollow.com and e mail it back to us. We will call you for an appointment time. **PLEASE NOTE WE ARE A VOLUNTEER BASED RESCUE AND IT MAKE TAKE 24-72 HOURS FOR US TO RESPOND TO ALL INQUIRIES** An application must be complete prior to visiting with any of our adoptable animals. |Rescue Me ID: 14-10-22-00114Finn (male)|
Finn is an Australian shepherd/beagle mix and was born 9/28/08 (6 years old). He needs to go to a home with NO CHILDREN and NO OTHER PETS due to aggression issues. He knows basic commands, is housebroken, neutered, microchipped (lifelong membership & can be transferred), and current on his rabies shot. He is an excellent dog as a one-on-one pet, but is extremely protective of what he considers his territory. It is breaking my heart that I can no longer keep him because I love him so dearly. I am looking for someone that has experience with aggression and understands the strong protective/herding instinct of an Australian Shepherd. My vet has suggested he may make a good working dog, but he has been a house pet since I adopted him (Less)

Animal ID: DandyDandy (male)
My name is Dandy, I am very upbeat and I love people. There is always a smile on my face, and my tail is sure to wag if I'm being pet. I'm the perfect size for any family due to my medium size. I love to play and run so I will need a fenced in yard, preferably a high fence because though I don't look it I can jump surprisingly high. Older children are best for me due to my playful nature, but if you're willing to play with me I will love you forever. If you want to by my forever home please call the Eaton County Humane Society at 269-749-9440.

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-17-00094Graybill (female)
[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Graybill is a rescue dog we adopted when she was 2 or 3. She is probably around 10 or 11 years old now. She is a sweet dog, but has some separation anxiety, and is not good with young children (has growled and nipped at them on occasion). We are about to have our third child, live in a very small house, and are concerned about her quality of life as we have to keep her separated from our kids. She has done well with other small dogs (she is about 13-14 pounds), loves to be outside, and go for walks. Follows her nose. Occasional seizures- maybe twice a year. We have been unsuccessful so far in re-homing her and our local humane society says because of her age and not being good with children, she will most likely be put down if we bring her to them. |Rescue Me ID: 14-05-06-00488Jake (male)|
Jake's fam LOVES him but he simply will not be kept within the confines of an electric fence. I am looking for a home that has a SECURE FENCED IN YARD or an active fam to walk/run Jake DAILY and enjoy him for the energetic soul he is. Beagles follow their noses; it is a given:) Jake has been successfully hunted as well. GREAT DOG. Email me for a LIFE CARE contract to adopt. Note that CCCR is in it **for the life of the animal** so if you adopt Jake from us- you will not be able to rehome **ever** Jake would have to be returned to the rescue-with a ten day grace period after notification from you to us. THANKS FOR ADOPTING ALWAYS!

PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Michigan
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
