Very sweet, playful girl! Human companion is moving and sadly cannot take her. Very well mannered and quite smart, loving. Would be a great addition to a household that has green space or water nearby.

|Rescue Me ID: 15-08-25-00527Charlie (male)|
Charlie is a sweet male tan beagle with orange colored eyes. Although he isn't a huge licker, he loves getting his daily pets. He loves the outdoors as well as the indoors. I have a 5 year old daughter and he is awesome with her. He is crate trained during the day and at night. We are looking for a loving home for this dog. He does have a 'beagle Bay' (typical for Beagles) which is why we have been looking for a home. Our ONE neighbor has made a complaint about the noise (which only happens when he sees action around him, therefore we can no longer keep him. Please only serious requests - My heart breaks to have to find him a different home, but I have no choice at this point. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-08-25-00427Sadie (female)|
Sadie is a very sweet and affectionate little dog. She loves to play with her toys and her sibling dogs who are much bigger than her. She learned sit, lie down and come very quickly, but if she smells a critter she has a hard time paying attention. She would need a fenced yard or to be on the leash until she got more training. She is very treat motivated which has made training time easy! She is house broken, and loves to snuggle. We adopted her from a shelter and although she is a wonderful little friend, she needs a home that can give her more walks and devote more time training. Our dogs are older and more layer back, but they do love playing with her. We don't want to take her back to the shelter now that she has gotten settled in to our home, but we are not prepared to care for her in the way that she needs. She would do excellent in a house with younger kids who wanted to play with her all the time, or with other dogs who like to play. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-08-20-00336Jake (male)|
Jake was surrendered to the Gladwin Animal Shelter by his owners. He is a very docile and sweet 11-13 yr old senior boy. We pulled him from the shelter to give him a better chance at finding the forever home that he deserves where he can live out the rest of his life. We were told Jake is a Beagle mix, he's not very big but is a little underweight at the moment. He's utd on shots but is not neutered. We don't want to take the risk with his age of putting him under. He's quite healthy besides it appears that he may be quite blind in both eyes. He walks great on a leash and keeps his kennel clean. We're not sure if he's been around cats but does fine with other dogs. His adoption fee is $75. Please contact me for more info or if you'd like an application to fill out and/or to set up an appointment to come meet him. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-08-05-00522Champ (male)|
Champ needs attention, affection and love. When we leave to go to work Champ barks and barks and barks. He doesnt like to leave our sides. If we put him in a garage or confinded space, he will do whatever he can to get out and to find us. We've tried meds, bark collars, and tons of training. He is otherwise a great dog that is affectionate. He has a weird qwerk that if you're petting him TOO much, he may growl, but is easily submissive once you say 'NO.' That is why i say he isnt good with kids, but really the only time we've had a problem with his behavior is when some kids were taunting him while they were on a bike and he broke the rope and went after them. He is a family member to us, but now the neighbors are starting to complain (we recently moved to a place where we can safely keep him outside) but he barks ALL day long while we are gone. (with a bark collar, he gets deterred slightly) We are at our whits end and cannot keep him anymore. He destorys your doors/ or anything that is blocking him from getting 'out' or to you. He would be perfect with someone who stays home, who loves to go on walks and who loves to have a connection and a follower. He is loyal. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-07-26-00251Duke (male)|
Duke came to us from a local shelter after his original owner had passed away and his extended family couldn't care for him. He's had a lot of loss in his recent past and we're looking for a caring and understanding person to be Dukes new forever home. He is considered a senior 9 years old but he doesn't necessarily act like it. He likes to go for walks and will occasionally get spunky with a toy or a ball. One on one he is an amazing dog and we feel he would be bet suited for maybe a retiree or a single person who wants a companion. He does currently live with other dogs and cats and has been around my nine year old son. Most of the time he's fine but he doesn't like to share his attention so we thik he would do best as the only pet. He is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption donation is $100 to the rescue, buthe does qualify for our senior to senior program which cuts his adoption donation in half for an individual over the age of 50. He does like to climb so he would need a privacy fence or someone diligent on walking with him. He is crate and house trained as well. If you're interested in applying to adopt Duke please email email@example.com or call 734-680-0852. If you would like to see more updates, pictures, and videos of Duke please 'LIKE' us on facebook. |Animal ID: 1039Corky (male)|
Meet Corky! This handsome guy is about 10 years old and was picked up as a stray, so we don't have much history on him. But we do know that he is super sweet and needs a home where he will know what it is to be loved. The streets are no where for a gentleman of his age. Help us find the perfect home for Corky to live out the rest of his golden years! Wild Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that relies on donations for the continued care of the animals. The rescue is located at 2525 Blue Star Highway Fennville, MI 49408. An application must be complete prior to scheduling a visit with our adoptable animals. |Animal ID: 15-05-09-00196Lucy (female)|
My name is Lucy, and I am an adorable 5 year old Goldie mix. Everyone that meets me thinks I am the cutest thing ever! You ought to see the way I wiggle when I am happy. I love my siblings and I get along well with other dogs at the dog park. Though sometimes the bigger more assertive dogs at the park can scare me, as I am only 30 pounds. I love to snuggle kiss; and I am quite sure that I am the queen bee amongst my big brothers. I love to be sassy and I can be very vocal. My mommy says that's the Beagle in me. Speaking of Beagles; I have the gift to free myself from confinement; so I would be best placed in a home with a cyclone fence. I was diagnosed with Severe Sub Aortic Stenosis (SAS) when I was a puppy. So my mommy has to give me Beta Blockers twice a day; and I feel great! The cost is only $10 for a 90-days supply, so she has lots of money left over to buy me treats and toys. My mommy is moving out of state and cannot take all of us with her, so she has to find me a new home and is very sad about it. Would you be willing to be my new fur-ever home? (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Michigan|
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
