Rescue Me ID: 16-08-22-00671Bingo (male)
Bingo was raised by my now adult daughter. She moved and abandoned him. He has gained a lot of weight at his foster home because Beagles don't know when to stop and he eats the other dog's food too. Recently had toddler visitors and he was not friendly with them. He deserves a forever home where he can be loved and slim down to healthy weight. He doesn't deserve to be euthanized.

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-15-00387Mumford (male)
Mumford is a pure bred Beagle. We have papers but have not registered him. We bought him for my son. He is around lots of elementary to middle school aged kids. Also we have another dog and cat. He is a good boy, but needs training and more time than out family has. We love him and so to be fair to him we want to find him a forever home with owners that embrace and love the beagle breed.

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-09-00032Annie (female)
Annie is a cute little thing... not real big. She was very scared when she came in the Shelter. Probably still is... she can be a little stinker with her dog friends so not real sure how she would be outside the Shelter but Meet and Greets are required. The Shelter has special pricing on Saturdays in the month of August.

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-26-00251Duke (male)
Duke came to us from a local shelter after his original owner had passed away and his extended family couldn't care for him. He's had a lot of loss in his recent past and we're looking for a caring and understanding person to be Dukes new forever home. He is considered a senior 9 years old but he doesn't necessarily act like it. He likes to go for walks and will occasionally get spunky with a toy or a ball. One on one he is an amazing dog and we feel he would be bet suited for maybe a retiree or a single person who wants a companion. He does currently live with other dogs and cats and has been around my nine year old son. Most of the time he's fine but he doesn't like to share his attention so we thik he would do best as the only pet. He is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption donation is $100 to the rescue, buthe does qualify for our senior to senior program which cuts his adoption donation in half for an individual over the age of 50. He does like to climb so he would need a privacy fence or someone diligent on walking with him. He is crate and house trained as well. If you're interested in applying to adopt Duke please email email@example.com or call 734-680-0852. If you would like to see more updates, pictures, and videos of Duke please 'LIKE' us on facebook. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Michigan|
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
