Rescue Me ID: 14-07-07-00036Nissie (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Nissie is a friendly and energenic dog but does not do well with other dogs recently. She got into a fight with our other dog (a yorkie) and the yorkie was killed. She was taken to vet and nothing is wrong with her. Never been around cats but probably would not do well. Loves to play, run and be social. However since the 'incident' it has been difficult to continue to bond with her. I do not want to euthanize her if I can aviod it. Spoke with 2 well known behaviorist and they suggested rehoming, because we will always see her as the one who killed our yorkie. please contact and I will text pic

Beagle Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Seizures,
 Fearful/Anxious

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Graybill is a rescue dog we adopted when she was 2 or 3. She is probably around 10 or 11 years old now. She is a sweet dog, but has some separation anxiety, and is not good with young children (has growled and nipped at them on occasion). We are about to have our third child, live in a very small house, and are concerned about her quality of life as we have to keep her separated from our kids. She has done well with other small dogs (she is about 13-14 pounds), loves to be outside, and go for walks. Follows her nose. Occasional seizures- maybe twice a year. We have been unsuccessful so far in re-homing ... (Read More)her and our local humane society says because of her age and not being good with children, she will most likely be put down if we bring her to them. (Less)

Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We adopted Sparky when she was 6 months old with minimal experience on beagles, we live in town so we unfortunately do not have what is necessary for her. We are looking for a good family with a large fenced in yard. She is crate trained but needs to be able to run which is something she is unable to do at our home. She is great with other animals (but likes to chase the cat in order to play) and is good with other dogs. She does like to jump on people so she could probably use a little training we just have not had the time. She LOVES to cuddle and be loved on and if she could be left out at night she would crawl right under your blankets ... (Read More)and sleep but most likely not all night so we do keep her in her cage at night and she does great but usually destroys any beds that are put in there for her. Thank you! (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Deacon is my rock. I might not be here today if not for him. I went through a bad divorce and having to take care of him is what got me through. He is an amazing dog. VERY loyal, loving and caring. He needs to go to a home where he is the only dog and to adults who will be home the vast majority of the time. He has gotten very anxious and has panic attacks when I leave. I have been handling this for 2 yrs, but will be moving into my boss's home in August and cannot have him having panic attacks there. I got a companion and it helped for a while, but he developed jealousy issues. He is an amazing guy and it is killing me to have to part with ... (Read More)him, but it is for the best for him. He is miserable in my apartment. He needs to live in the country or at the very least needs a fenced in backyard. The local Humane Society will not help. I love him very dearly, please help. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-05-26-00144Richard (male)

Beagle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Richard was originally adopted as a very thin, malnourished puppy by a woman who lovingly took him in for 3 years, gave him a good home and definitely 'over-fed' him. A few months ago, her house went into foreclosure and moved into a condo. Unable to keep Richard, she came to me and my roommate to try to find a good home for him. I set him up with my friend Tim and his girlfriend and her 6 year old son in a fairly decent sized trailer in Novi, Michigan. He was fine at first but as soon as they started leaving him home by himself, he would poop/pee in the house, tear the blinds apart, and tore the air conditioner out of the window. Following ... (Read More)our instructions of NOT crating him, (he is terrified of being in a crate and WILL bust out) they dealt with it for about 2 months, then finally came back to me and said they were unable to keep Richard anymore because he was costing them too much money. Even though I live in the top floor of a duplex, with 3 other people, a chocolate lab, a beagle, and 2 cats, I still decided to take Richard in. But we are currently hiding him from our landlord because if he knew we had this many animals living here he would kick us out. We have had Richard here for 3 weeks now, and he has been perfect. Not because he likes it better here, but because he is never alone. He always has his dog and cat friends with him even when we are not home. Richard has serious separation anxiety and CANNOT be left alone by himself for more than 5 minutes. Also note than if he is 'spanked' he will bite. He has never bit me but my roommates have complained about him biting them when he doesn't listen and they spank him. CANNOT be hit and CANNOT be left alone or in a crate. Otherwise he is the most perfect, lovable beagle and if I didn't have to give him up I wouldn't. He also kind of needs to go on a diet. I have been walking him almost every day and it seems to be helping. Please help me find a good home for him, either with other pets or with someone maybe retired or just someone that is always home. Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Zoey is a sweet, loving dog who is happiest and well began ed when she has the opportunity to run and play. My mom moved to a condo 2 years ago so Zoey could only go outside for walks on a leash. This last year mom has had a hip and knee replacement and can't really give Zoey what she needs. Zoey has bumped into her a couple of times recently and has injured her. She has been in her crate most of the time since moms surgery. I help take the dog out during the day but she needs a home with a fenced in yard and maybe some older kids to play with her!

We are looking for a home that will play with her, walk with her, and cuddle (she loves to snuggle)! Doggie Daycare says she is good with other dogs however she has not done too well when we are around so I am not sure how should would do in a home with other dogs.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Michigan
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
