Rescue Me ID: 15-02-03-00168Sawyer (male)

Beagle Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Fearful/Anxious

Sawyer is between 5-6 years old. I adopted him several years ago from a kill shelter when he was going to be put down. He has been a great dog, but he truly requires more love than a normal dog. He was SEVERELY abused when I got him. He would not stop shaking, would not come out of his kennel, and would urinate all over himself from anxiety. The past few years he has made some serious progress, but still has issues with separation anxiety. There are also times that he fast movements or loud noises make him cower. He also is a bit skiddish around men. Sawyer has done fine with my husband, but it took Sawyer awhile to warm up to him. We have ... (Read More)two dogs and a cat. Sawyer gets along with our other dog fine, but he needs to warm up to new ones. While he is small, he sometimes has the attitude of a 100 lb dog. He likes to be the 'big dog' on the block. He LOVES the cat and they sleep together and play all the time. I am only looking for a home for him, because it has become very difficult to leave him at home for 8-9 hours kenneled and then come home to him being very high strung and anxious. He needs to be kenneled while gone, because otherwise he tends to have accidents in the house due to his anxiety. He does not chew or tear anything up. I used to be a college/ graduate student and was able to leave him for short periods of time and I had a very flexible job that I could take him to work with me. Now, I am in a traditional office job and it breaks my heart to have to kennel him for that long. On October 3rd, he had his dental cleaning and check-up with a clean bill of health. He did have a few cracked teeth due biting at his kennel door. The vet said it is normal for dogs that have separation problems, and just suggested keeping an eye on his teeth to watch for breaking. Ideally, he would go to a home that he would not have to be in a kennel all day. I have also looked into medications to help him, but have not pursued any at this time. He also currently has a wellness plan through Banfield Pet Clinic at PetCo. He also does best when he is walked for 30 min or so before being put in the kennel. This still only works for when he is kenneled for a short time. I am in no rush and want to find the perfect home for him. He loves to be held, cuddle up and sleep under the blankets. He knows some basic commands and is house trained (except for issues with separation). He has some quirks but is really a wonderful dog full of love. I would love to see about finding a good home for him and someone that can provide more attention. Adoption Fee negotiable. (Less)

I'm Sandy and I'm almost 4 yrs old. I had a great home as they gave me lots of food and treats. My daddy can't take care of me anymore so now I'm searching for a new family. Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Odin is a 13 month old Beagle-Siberian Husky mix. He is a chocolate/tan color with the blue Siberian husky eyes. He is a high energy dog that will need some training and socialization skills. He is not good with kids or cats. If you have a big back yard or live in the country where he can run some of his energy off that would be perfect. He loves running, cuddling and being with you at all times. He has separation anxiety issues but has been getting better at them. We live in an apartment and due to some noise complaints from neighbors we must find a new home for our puppy. Odin has been vetted by Dr. Jeffrey Schlager with Gladstone ... We are urgently needing to find a new home for Odin as my husband, now a Marine Vet, is home recuperating from severe leg injuries and ptsd and us living in an apartment is unfortunately not a good situation for either Odin or my husband. We are reaching out to anyone who can rescue our Odinbear and give him a proper home with lots of love and run time. (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

We have a 7 year old Beagle mix, Daisy. She has been a very sweet and loving dog that we have had since she was a puppy. Unfortunately, we found out after we had our baby (who is now a toddler) that she is not good with small children. She is great with our nieces who are 9 and 11 but she is terrified of small children and will snap at them if she is cornered. Our daughter is VERY gentle but Daisy is still very scared of her.%A0 She would do amazing in a home without any other dogs and older or no children. She also seems to prefer women over men. So, ideally, she would go to the home of a single woman who has the time and energy to give ... (Read More)her. She loves to cuddle, lay on your lap or at your feet and LOVES long walks. Daisy is VERY obedient. She loves to please. She is also potty and crate trained. It absolutely breaks my heart to even write this but she would be much happier with a family or person that is better suited for her personality. Also, she is good with cats. Our cat and her love to chase each other around the house. P.S. Daisy is UTD on her shots, spayed, about 40 lbs, low to the ground (Bassett legs), and has a food allergy (Less)

Check out this handsome guy!! This is Rusty! Rusty is a 2 year old Beagle mix who enjoys life! Rusty loves to play and gets along well with other dogs! Rusty is working on his confidence with positive reinforcement training, and he is making AWESOME progress! Rusty is potty trained as well as kennel trained.     Hi, I'm Buster. I have an incredible story of survival. I was found crawling, yes, crawling down the road. I have a herniated disc so I can no longer stand or walk for long periods of time. I do get up but with difficulty. So, in my greatest hour of need someone decided I should be dumped and left to fend for myself. I know, it should make me bitter but you know us dogs; we are resilient and it doesn't take much to make us happy. So, I'm very happy to have been rescued by M'Shoogy's. I'm leaving the past behind me and living for the day when someone with a really big heart will give me a loving home. Is your heart big enough to take me in? ...     Hi, my name is Bennie. I ended up at M'Shoogys after getting hit by a car. Unfortunately, it's not an unusual story around here. There is something a little unusual about me; I had to have my tail amputated because of the accident. You might think it's a little weird but really, you wouldn't know it was missing if I hadn't mentioned it. I'll tell you what you will notice, my sparkling personality! I might not have a tail but I'm all dog alight. I'm friendly, happy go-lucky, and it's all good! You don't have to take my word for it; come down to the shelter and see for yourself. I think you'll find I'm irresistible.

KC was surrendered to Furry Kids' when his owner had to move into an assisted living facility and could not take his dogs with him. KC does not like being in a crate/kennel. KC came from a home with another little dog, but while in a foster home for Furry Kids, displayed some aggression towards an older dog in the home, so he would definitely need to meet any dogs he might be living with to be sure they get along. Children can also be stressful to KC, so he should not go to a home with small children (under 10). KC is so loving & sweet and would make a great companion to some lucky family. PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Missouri
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
