Beagle Mix    Age: Senior

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello I'm Sparky. I'm an 11 year old beagle/cocker spaniel mix. My owner had to give me up because we became homeless. We were living in her car for a while but when the car died she had to move to a homeless shelter and I was not allowed to go with her. My owner thought it would be best to surrender me so I could find a wonderful home. I am in excellent health but I do have a little bit of arthritis. I get along ok with other dogs but would probably be best being an only dog as I'm an alpha dog with some food aggression. I am not fostered with cats, so I am not sure how I would do. I love people and would be great for a person who ... (Read More)is home at least part time. I don't like the crate but will stay in it if I have too. I love car rides and exploring with you. A home without small children is best because I'm a senior and don't care for the noise and commotion. Could I be the dog for you? Sparky is current on vaccinations, HW negative, neutered, and micro chipped. If you are interested in Sparky, please fill out an adoption application at www.bassetandbeagle.ord (Less)

***ADOPTION PENDING*** My name is Lemon, if you couldn't tell by the name I am a petite Lemon beagle!!! I am 2-3 years old and I weigh a whopping 22lbs. My foster mom says I need a special family to be kind and patient with me, so that they can love and teach me what being a family pet is all about! I am very shy and timid about most things since I have kind of had a rough life, but I get along great with other dogs and kids (as long as they know how to treat pets properly). I am potty trained and kennel trained, but was never taught a whole lot of tricks. I am pretty quiet and calm and really just want to be a companion but my ... Beagle    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

***ADOPTION PENDING*** Hi, I'm Mattie the Beagle. I'm about 8 years young and looking for my forever family. I'm not fussy; I have plenty of love to give to a whole bunch of people (big & small) or just one special someone to call my own. I've been told that I'm so sweet and just fun to have by your side. I'm learning all about being an inside dog and to tell you the truth, I LOVE IT!!! I adapted to my foster family's schedule and I haven't had any bathroom accidents. I enjoy looking out the window and watching the neighborhood. My foster mom says I wouldn't make a very good watch dog; I'm too quiet. Yes, it's true...I'm a quiet ... (Read More)beagle. I just love running the perimeter of the fence, sniffing out all the bunnies and racing back when I hear my name called. The neighbor's dog tries to talk to me but I am too shy and don't answer him back. I did bark once to tell my foster mom about a skunk I saw. We quickly came inside%BD'%BD|did I mention that I am easy to pick up and carry? A little about me: I'm slightly a work in progress with my commands, but boy do I love all the positive reinforcement when I get them correct. My favorite reward are those things called belly rubs!! Yup, I will do anything for a belly rub. I'm also very curious and like to follow my foster family from room to room. Initially, I waited to be invited but now I understand that I'm allowed to go all over. I don't want to brag, but I'm about 90% trustable to leave out when you are gone. Occasionally, I see a box and, well, that is my downfall. Boxes & papers%BD'%BD|but not furniture. I don't chew on those hard things. I love it when people talk to me. I can sit and listen for hours. I just snuggle right into them. Sometimes, I even fall asleep on their laps. I have a stuffed monkey and pink bunny which I carry with me from room to room. I 'dine' in my crate for breakfast & dinner but I take my snacks during the day with my furry foster sister. If the door is open, I like to go in & out of my crate during the day. However, I get very anxious if I am locked in there for any length of time. That's why my foster family is working with me to be 100% house trustable. I enjoy meeting new people of all ages and other dogs. I haven't met a cat yet, but I'm sure with the right introduction I could get along. My foster mom says I am a true heart-melter with the gentlest disposition. Mattie is current on vaccinations, spayed, and micro chipped. She is currently undergoing treatment for HW Disease.     This is Betty. Like Betty White, because she's a spunky older lady. Betty is about 8 years old, and still enjoying the lively beagle lifestyle. Despite a little initial shyness, as soon as Betty recognizes you she will want to be your friend. When you come home she will run with a wiggly tail and a wiggly butt to cover you with kisses. She also likes other dogs, and is happy to play with her fur brother (who is 7 years younger, and 60lbs heavier). She is good with men, women, and children. She's never met a cat. Betty is potty-trained and kennel-trained. She likes to put her nose to the ground and explore the yard, and loves taking walks. ... Beagle    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Well hello there! I'm Skipper. I may look like an older gentleman on the outside but inside there is a younger, respectable and slightly energetic man. My foster mom tells me I'm about 8 years old and I weigh around 37lbs. but at times I feel like a young pup! I am quite the intelligent man too. I know many commands and become ecstatic when my foster mom says it's time to train. I love to learn and I really love to get treats! My foster mom says I should go to a home with a yard and I am in complete agreement. Sometimes my young energy kicks in and I need a place to get it all out. I am respectable though. I do not dig or climb fences. I do ... (Read More)like to let the neighborhood know I exist with my old man bark. All the other dogs bark so I can respond, right? If I get a little rowdy I quickly listen to my foster mom's correction and come right in. She gets so excited that I listen so well! I currently have 4 other dogs to play with and I quite enjoy them. I want to be friends with them all even though the grumpy old one doesn't want to be friends with anyone. But even when she yells at me I respectfully listen and walk away. The younger dogs enjoy playing with me and help get that young energy out. I also have a human sibling. She's 4 years old and I enjoy watching her run about. I love when she stops to pet me and I have learned that she drops food at the table. She might just be my favorite human in the house! I know she is a tiny person so I never jump on her and I am careful when walking near her. I don't want to hurt my food buddy! I like to snuggle with my foster mom and dad. I'll lay beside them on the couch and they will rub me and it feels amazing. Most of the time I lie on my bed on the floor. I enjoy having my own special spot to go to when I am tired. I have quickly learned to go here when foster mom tells me to as well. Foster mom says she is very impressed with my quick learning abilities! Foster mom says my only 'setback' is I am a very strong boy. I surprised her the first time she walked me. I tried telling her she needed to keep up with my strength but she insists on teaching me how to walk calmer on a leash. There are just so many smells!!! Foster mom says I will need a strong owner for walking. As of now, foster mom insists on kenneling me when everyone is gone. The kennel can be a very scary place and I can get nervous when in it. Foster mom is helping me realize the kennel is a safe place and we are working on being free when everyone is gone. I am not destructive when everyone is home but foster mom said it's better to be safe than sorry when everyone leaves. We are working on being out alone for short periods of time and foster mom says that I am showing her I am a very good boy with great promise! Skipper is current on vaccinations, HW negative, neutered, and micro chipped. If you are interested in Skipper, please fill out an adoption application at www.bassetandbeagle.org (Less)

Hello! My name is Sophie & I am a 6 year old Beagle mix. I am really shy at first although I will open up once I get to know you a little better. I grew up on a farm so I am still learning how to be an inside dog but I think I've got it down. I do best with a routine & schedule. I don't mind being outside (unless it's cold & snowy) so I would love to have a big backyard where I can run around! I've never been around kids but I don't mind other dogs. In fact, I think I would love to have a friend to play with! From the foster parents: Sophie can be timid at times, especially around new people or a new place but warms up once she ... (Read More)gets more comfortable. She can be startled easily sometimes, especially with loud noises so she prefers quiet places. She very rarely barks & doesn't chew on anything! Her favorite spot is on her bed in the living room but she's also curious & likes to wander around the house sometimes. Sophie was not house trained when she came to us but she has quickly learned to go outside rather than inside. She is still learning how to walk on a leash & to use the kennel but has made huge strides with both of these. She is very smart & is a very quick learner! Sophie is a sweetheart & would make a great addition to your home! ** Sophie is heartworm positive & will undergo treatment at the end of January. After treatment is finished, she will be spayed & have a dental procedure. Sophie is current on all of her vaccinations and micro chipped.** If you are interested in Sophie, please fill out an adoption application at www.bassetandbeagle.org (Less)
