Beagle    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Aggressive

Roxy is an adult female dog about 6 years old. We got her from the kiddos after their mom didn't want her. We've had her for several years and she is getting more aggressive. We have tried petco dog training and other methods (videos and choke collars) but her temperament is very unsteady. She needs a large fenced yard and no other pets or kids.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-04-00478AMBROSIA (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

AMBROSIA was saved from Montgomery Animal Shelter on 28th February 2015. She was with 3 other puppies that are wire-haired terriers, so we are unsure of what breed she is. AMBROSIA was very fearful at first but once she got settled she became the sweetest love bug ever. She does air on the side of caution and will make sure that you really want her to come to you before she makes that step to come over. She is gaining confidence with time and although I am sure when she leaves the rescue she will be fully confident, I think she will again be cautious until she knows she can trust her new family. AMBROSIA gets on great with the other pups ... (Read More)and doesn't seem bothered with the older dogs. She plays great with the smaller pups and those her own age and size. We don't have cats in the rescue so we cannot say how she will act, however, since she is young, with correct guidance and training and letting her satisfy any curiosity I am confident she can live in harmony with any feline friends. AMBROSIA will benefit from a family that understands her need to learn to trust and who have the time and dedication to work with her on basic and advanced training. This not only helps form a strong bond, but also enables boundaries and expectations to be set and both family and her body language be learnt. AMBROSIA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed and micro-chipped. She is too young to be heart-worm tested but has been on prevention since arriving at the rescue. AMBROSIA has an estimated date of birth of 21 October 2015 and at the time of rescue she weighed 15.6 pounds, but was also very skinny. AMBROSIA is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $300. Transport - West Coast Although LOCATED in TEXAS we are using Paws Without Borders, a highly reputable animal rescue transport company to re-locate our dogs from rescue to meet their families along the West Coast, raveling up I5 as far as Everett, WA (This allows us to save more dogs from the high rate kill shelters here in Texas). This is a private company and their transport fee (which is paid directly to them) are $150, $200, $250 depending on the crate size. Most of our dogs will be the $200 or $250 crate size. This fee is in addition to what you would pay the rescue for the adoption fee. If you are interested in adopting this precious girl, please go to our website and under the APPLICATION tab our application process and form can be found and submitted. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Oregon
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Oregon if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
