She's been treated and is doing great. A quiet, well-mannered girl with good potty habits, Elyse is a great companion and will be a wonderful addition to her new family! She is still working on her house training but if you get her out often and keep an eye on her in the house she is fine. She is good with people and lives with a older dog. Adoption fee is only to recover expenses I've incurred to this point and is negotiable for the right person. Iams puppy chow that will be included along with the rest of Heartworm and Flea and Tick meds.Crate included if needed. |Animal ID: 6297132Jill (female)|
Jill is a lovely Beagle girl who was adopted about four years ago, and has lived happily with her owners ever since. Unfortunately, family circumstances are forcing a move to housing where dogs aren't allowed ... so Jill is looking for a new place to hang her leash. Now about 6 years old, her 'mom' says 'Jill would do very well with an older couple with no small children around, as she's not a fan of little humans. With adults, however, she is very, very affectionate and loves to cuddle. She loves to run outside and chase the squirrels, but has never left the property even when's she's gotten out of the gate. For more information or to adopt Jill, please email AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. http://almosthomedogrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=6297132 (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-01-25-00772Ringo (male)|
Ringo is a wonderful, mellow 8-yo beagle-man looking for a relatively quiet home to retire and be adored in, having already made his contribution via bio-medical research. Ringo has truly been low-maintenance in his foster home. He is quite content to find a nice comfortable spot on a chair or couch and observe life from there if his human(s) is/are busy, and to snuggle if anyone should sit down. He is housetrained to a doggie-door, quiet in his crate. He needs some work on leash-walking just because he is so quiet, 'surprises' (like trash-trucks, kids on bicycles zipping by, that sort of thing), on walks make him very nervous. Ringo could be an only-dog or share a home with other dogs and/or cats. He doesn't pay much attention to the cats in his foster home, but he does show them respect if they are near one-another. Overall, Ringo is a great candidate for someone who is looking for a low-key boy who will adore them. All he asks in return is for them to adore, snuggle and provide copious belly-rubs and ear-scritches to him. |Animal ID: BRL-0264Benny (male)|
Benny is a handsome, young, active, and affectionate beagle boy. He is so typical that he has some common beagle puppy traits...being mouthy when he plays, chewing on the occasional inappropriate items, etc. Benny loves to play and he loves to snuggle. :) He is house- and crate-trained and will willingly spend quiet time in his crate, even when his human family is home. In addition to playing, Benny enjoys his snuggle time and will usually just melt for a belly- and or ear-rub, although if he is feeling playful he will try to turn it into a game. He will also bring a rope or other toy to initiate a game of tug when he is feeling playful, too. To date Benny has had little interest in the resident cats, and he has gotten along well with dogs of all ages and sizes. He would do well as an only dog as well provided his adopters insure that he gets enough exercise! The biggest difference between Benny and a typical beagle (if there is such a thing) is that he MUST sleep crated. Benny has a sleep-disorder called RBD (REM-Sleep Behavior Disorder) that causes him to have episodes where he snaps, growls and lunges and anybody (or any dog) in the vicinity may be in his way at this time and end up being bitten. Benny is NOT AWAKE during these episodes (despite what it looks like) and THIS IS NOT A BEHAVIORAL OR TRAINING PROBLEM!! He is not awake and does not have conscious control during these episodes - he is truly asleep. If awoken during an incident, Benny will simply look around, curl back up and go right back to sleep. In his foster home he usually has one or two episodes a night, although he has had more some nights, usually following excessive stimulation. This is quite manageable in a vigilant household. You just need to make sure that Benny sleeps in a crate! :) Benny will not be adopted to homes with children. To learn more about Benny's sleep disorder, please visit the webpage of another dog with this disorder http://www.withoutavoice.net/Sam.html To review our adoption process and submit an application, please visit: beaglerescueleague.org/adoption (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in Pennsylvania|
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
