No but I would love one What kind of home would be best for me? I would love a home with people! I am totally a needy boy with a want for a lot of attention. I don't think I've ever met a child but they sound like so much fun. Maybe a big yard and some people to play with me and then we can come back in and I can get my back scratched while we watch TV! ... (Read More)I'm okay with everyone I meet and I never quite understand when they're tired of me, so my friends call me 'pesty' but not in a bad way at all! I just need to learn how to understand when my dog friends are done playing! Can I pleaaseee go home with you? What is my personality like? I'm a very happy go lucky boy who loves treats and love. Once I know you will be there I am a very calm, loving boy with a lot of admiration to give. How do I act when I first meet new people? I'm friendly, especially if you have treats! House trained? Beagle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Beagle to a good, loving home. We have been fostering him for the past month and a half. He was hit by a car a couple of months ago of which the Veterinary Specialty Care took him in. He suffered a broken jaw. They worked with a local veterinary to get him current on vaccinations and neuter him. The $50 fee is what we put towards the neutering. He is between 1-2 years old. Very sweet, submissive, and does love to cuddle and be loved. Not aggressive at all. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Animal ID: 17-11-30-00381Toby (male)

Beagle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Toby is a lovable 4 year old beagle but with severe anxiety issues. Prozac has helped somewhat, but he has a history of biting and we have been asked by animal control to find a home for him immediately or have him euthanized. Although 'not good with other dogs is checked' he is best friends with our dachshund and gets along well with other dogs that visit our house once he is introduced. He is also good with adults unless he feels threatened by them. I would not advise a home with small children. Our hope is that he can go to live on a farm or large outdoor setting where he will be loved. WE love him and will miss him dearly.

Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

At about 4 years old, Calvin needs an experienced, quiet home. He is excruciatingly shy and very slow to trust new people. Even once he learns to trust you, he is still submissive towards you. He is a happy little fella who gets along great with all other animals. He needs to have another dog in his home to help him learn and to help him come out of his shell. Calvin is crate trained, but has never been on a leash and will need someone who is patient and willing to work with him on those skills. He is a major flight risk, so adopters must have a fenced in yard!

Date into Rescue: 8/25/2017 Reason for being in rescue: sc shelter, stray. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? none noted Weight: 28 lbs Height: 15' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? not needed What kind of home would be best for me? I just need a easy laid back home where I can be someone's best pal. What is my personality like? Just a sweet senior that was found a stray all on my lonesome in South Carolina. I'm a easy dog to care for and low maintenance. Got a couch for me to sleep on? and maybe a nice back scratch every now and then and I'll be satisfied. I know I'm not the average cute ... (Read More)fluffy poodle that comes through this rescue but I promise I can love you just as much as they would (maybe even more). I need a special person with a big heart willing to take on a old guy like me. We could go take walks around the park or maybe even go watch a baseball game.. I'm not picky. I'm extremely loving and loyal. I will never want to leave your side. With age and experience.. I am wise. I know what a leash is.. and I love when I go for walks. I also can sit and lay down for treats. Give this old boy a chance! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly, I love people. House trained? I would love a fence- I love to explore. What kind of home would be best for me? I need a home that can handle my vibrant strong personality. I am okay with other dogs but I want to be the leader. I would prefer to be the only pampered pooch though. What is my personality like? HEY I'm daisy and I have a 'hit the ground running' type of personality. I am very entertaining and I will ... (Read More)keep you on your toes. When you first meet me, I am all over the place with excitement, but after a few minutes I will calm down and find a toy to keep me company. If you don't care for dogs with strong personalities I am not the dog for you.. But if you find silly wide open dogs- I am the one you are looking for! Leash walking isn't my best trait because the new smells from outside tend to make me pull. I do know how to sit though but I am distra.. oh look a butterfly! What was I saying again? oh yeah.. I get distracted easily. I can try better to focus though with the right person. How do I act when I first meet new people? I love people! More tips and tidbits: I was found as a stray in SC just strolling around. No one really knows the story my past has but I am ready for a bright new future where I will forever be loved! Rescue Me ID: 17-07-15-00468Huckabee (male)

Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Date into Rescue: 5/26/2017 Reason for being in rescue: found as stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Huckabee has heartworms. He will be sent home with 12 months of heartworm preventative. This is called the slow kill method . Please check with your veterinarian before adopting a dog with heartworms. Weight: 24.3 lbs Height: est 20' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Huckabee is looking for a family with a lot of experience in taking care of dogs. A typical hound, Huckabee has a strong personality and a desire to shape a really nice basic ... (Read More)personality into a wonderful dog. Huckabee is bright - and bright kids need loving structure or they will take advantage of you. What is my personality like? Huckabee is a sweet lovable boy but he's definitely a strong personality. For example, he walks on a leash, but he likes to lead. He is intent on going where he wants. He is also good at slipping between feet and through gates. That can be dangerous and he needs to be taught to respect boundaries. He has spent time playing with dogs much larger than he is and did well. He loves the freedom of a fenced in yard to run and play in. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly and inquisitive. More tips and tidbits: When introduced to a new group of dogs and a new area of our farm he had not been to in the past, he enjoyed the stimulation of a new environment, smelling new smells and marking his territory. So far, we've introduced Huckabee to a kitten who is not very active yet as she is too young . Our caregiver could not make a good call on whether he would be good with cats based on this one encounter. He wasn't aggressive, but at that point he was overwhelmed by seeing new dogs and new smells and a new place. He was busy taking it ALL in. He'll need to be cat tested again if a cat owning home is interested. The boy is a good guy. But he is young and very active. He can't focus on one on one time. His mind and body are going in many different directions. He's a cutie and he needs some work *as most young dogs do) but he has a great disposition and that you can't teach. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Est birth date 5/26/2014 Please note - we do not ship dogs. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. PIease Read Before Adopting a Beagle in South Carolina
Beagle Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Beagles are small, energetic hounds with sweet, happy dispositions. Beagles make wonderful family pets. Beagles need to be with people and do not like to be left alone; it is a good idea to have more than one dog if you will be away often. Beagles are great with children but do not do well with cats and other household animals unless they are around them from the time they are puppies. A Beagle needs a decent sized yard to play in and needs lots of exercise. Beagles may wander off easily if not kept on a leash.
